This is how it starts... 

It was a beautiful February afternoon, crystal clear with rich blue sky. I noticed the weathered old sedan as I entered a cafe in Arroyo Seco, New Mexico and made a mental note to look closer when leaving.  

I was pulled into its shape and surface, the effects of time, sun, dryness and heat on the many layers of paint, now oxidized and blended into abstractions of texture and color;  the old glass, now bubbled, congealed, coagulated into marvelous patterns; the chrome holding its own and contrasting with the aging metal, paint and glass;  the effects of time, weather and misfortune…..  This is how it starts.
