I shoot at sunrise, arriving well before the sun has started to lighten the morning sky. Standing and waiting at my tripod, listening in the dark to the breathing sea, I realize that I have already won the game.

Montauk

Greetings!
As many of you know, Montauk is one of my favorite shooting locations.
I did a four day shoot out there last October after too many weeks of Covid isolation and it felt great to be back. Those four days in Montauk were dominated by persistent fog and rain which presented both challenges and possibilities, not the least of which was keeping my equipment alive, dry and well. Or navigating the rocks and bluffs at the Point in 5AM pouring rain. As always I photographed from before sunrise until beyond sundown. The few times the sun broke through exposed exquisite, magical light and sea, reminding me of how much I love this job!

After a year, shows are finally opening up again!

Here is my May schedule:
May 15 & 16 -- Alexandria Old Town Springtime Art Festival. Alexandria, VA
May 22 & 23 — Shadyside Art Festival On Walnut Street. Pittsburgh, PA
May 29 & 30 — Westport Fine Arts Festival. Westport, CT

You can see my entire upcoming show schedule on my Events page!
See you on the road!
